> What does the Global Management Challenge consist of?
The
Global Management Challenge is a Strategic Management Competition. It
consists of a Simulation in which each team runs a Company, with the
objective of finishing with the highest company share price on the Stock
Market.
> Who
can take part in the Global Management Challenge?
Company
Managers and University Students.
> How do we participate ?
Form your team
(up to 5 team members) and contact us.
We
can maybe help you to find a sponsor : form your team and send us by e-mail
your CVs and a cover letter. We will present your candidature to a sponsor.
> What
about the enrolment fee ?
2 400 € HT for
one team in the French competition and 2 200 € HT for one team in the
Belgium/Luxemburg competition.
> How many people can compete in
each team?
A minimum of 3
and a maximum of 5 people in each team.
> How can each team change its
members?
By sending an
e-mail to challenge@euromanager.fr for France and challenge@euromanager.be
for Belgium/Luxembourg, informing and requesting the member's substitution
or withdrawal, and by also giving detailed information on the new member.
> How does the competition work?
First, there
is a Team Draw. The teams are placed in groups (Each group with a maximum
of 8 teams). Each group makes up a Market, in which the teams compete with
one another.
- Each team downloads trough a personal login, information (Company
History) on the Company they are about to run. It then;
- Outlines a Corporate Strategy;
- Takes decisions for the different areas of the Company (Marketing,
Production, Human Resources and Finances);
- And fills up on the website its Management Decisions (Decision Sheet;
After processing the data, SDG Euromanager puts on line the result of each team’s Strategy
(Management Report), that they can download. This cycle is repeated over
Five Developing Decision Periods.
> What
documents do the competitors receive?
The Team Leader (the liaison with SDG Euromanager) can download:
1) Their personal ID and login, The Team's Identification:
Its Group Number and its Company Number
2) The Company History (5 Excel documents)
3) The Global Management Challenge Manual
> Do
all teams run the same Company?
The Company
that each team is supposed to run is the same for all the teams. In other
words, all the teams within a Group start on the same footing. However,
from the moment the competition starts, each Group has nothing to do with
the other Groups. Any decisions taken will have impact only within in its
own Group/Market. Therefore, competitors mustn't compare their company
share price with those of other Groups.
> How
do the teams submit their decisions?
Each team
fills in its Decision Sheet on the
website www.euromanager.be ,
through its personal login
> When
and where will the International Final of The Global Management Challenge
2007 take place?
The
International Final will take place
on April 24th and
25th 2007 in Macau.
